NAWG’s 2022 Summer Intern
Washington, D.C. (June 8, 2022) – This summer, NAWG is welcoming Texas A&M University student Carly Oldag as our policy and communications intern. Carly is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Poultry Science and Agricultural Leadership & Development and will be graduating in the spring of 2023.
Although Carly is from the agriculturally based town of El Campo, Texas, she was not involved with agriculture until high school. It was through the school’s FFA program that she developed a passion for the industry, leading her to study at Texas A&M University. During her time at Texas A&M, she has been heavily involved in the Student Government Association (SGA), representing the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences as a Student Senator. Within these positions, Carly has gained experience working on policy issues with elected officials in local government and has served as an ambassador and undergraduate representative through various advisory boards, organizations, and departmental programs. Her passion and involvement with agriculture and policy sparked an interest in applying to Texas A&M’s Agricultural and Natural Resources Policy (ANRP) Program.
“We are thankful to have Carly join our NAWG team this summer,” NAWG CEO, Chandler Goule shares. “The ANRP Program has been a great program to partner with providing hard-working interns, and Carly is no exception.”
“I am so excited to gain first-hand experience seeing policy affects the agricultural industry. It is such a blessing to get to work with and learn from everyone on the NAWG team,” said Carly Oldag.
During her time with the National Association of Wheat Growers, Carly will be assisting with both policy and communication projects.
