NAWG CEO Attends White House State Dinner with President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto of the Republic of Kenya

Washington, D.C. (May 28, 2024) – On May 23, 2024, the National Association of Wheat Growers’ (NAWG) CEO Chandler Goule attended the White House State Dinner with President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto of the Republic of Kenya. Goule was chosen to participate in this event due to President William Ruto’s background in agriculture.

“It was an honor to attend this state dinner as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the United States’ partnership with Kenya. The partnership between our two countries is essential as we work to increase global trade opportunities for U.S. wheat growers,” said NAWG CEO Chandler Goule.

Kenya is the fastest and most stable growing economy on the African continent. NAWG supports proactive free trade negotiations with Kenya and believes a free trade agreement could provide a more favorable tariff and SPS provisions for U.S.-sourced wheat. A free trade agreement with Kenya could also provide a model for other African countries to follow.
