House of Representatives Passes the One Big Beautiful Bill Act

Washington, D.C. (July 3, 2025) – Today, The House of Representatives, passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. In response, the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) President Pat Clements issued the following statement.

“Thank you to members of the House and Senate for working together to send this bill to the President’s desk. This legislation will empower America’s wheat producers to invest in their operations, remain globally competitive, and support national food security and economic resilience. NAWG commends Congress for recognizing the vital role of wheat producers in the food supply chain and looks forward to continued collaboration with policymakers as the bill heads to the President for signature.”

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, reflects some of NAWG’s top policy priorities, including:

  • Enhancing the Farm Safety Net: Increases reference prices for ARC and PLC programs, with an inflation adjuster and an improved price escalator to keep pace with rising market and input costs; also boosts funding for supplemental disaster assistance programs.
  • Strengthening Crop Insurance: Expands access to affordable crop insurance options for producers.
  • Expanding Market Opportunities: Provides an increase in funding for agricultural trade promotion programs.
