Key Issue: Research & Technology

Wheat research is vital to wheat growers in the United States in order to improve productivity, reverse the declining trend of crop acreage and help the U.S. wheat grower sustainably feed a growing global population.
The National Association of Wheat Growers strongly believes that in order to maintain worldwide competitiveness, the United States must maintain a strong core research infrastructure of scientific discovery, technology transfer and training of plant researchers. Wheat relies on public, private and grower funding for crop innovation. Growing that investment in wheat research over time is critical to achieving the innovation needed to support the growing global population.
